TRIFLING and SAD, SAD, SAD
You would think that his broke ass would jump at the 1st chance of working with you and your crew and have fun, and also  boost up his tired ass career or what's left of it.  One doesn't have to wonder any longer what caused the demise of New Edition and his marriage to Whitney.  He has no character, he looks worse than a hopeless bum on drugs, I just don't know what to say about the brother.  I'm sending the email to some of the Black Radio stations just so they get the right story or just to read the agreement from his attorney.  I could say more but I don't want to get politically incorrect.  Hang in there guys, you're doing positive things.  Well, if you need a fill in for the day just holla!

I never liked Bobby Brown!
I think that Bobby said that he didn't agree to work on the air because word came out about the bet with Hot 99.5 in DC and he's embarrased that people would think that  he  is so desprate that some local radio station agreed to bail him out. It's all about the repetition. I don't care that Bobby aint coming cause I'm not a fan of Bobby Brown anyway.

Who's Bobby Brown?
Hot 99.5  you tried to do the right thing with this has been, how dare he back out of it! It will only be  a matter of time before he is back in Jail and we can all have the last laugh.  You are doing the right thing in giving the money to people who deserve it.

The reality: Phaedra C. Parks, Bobby Brown's attorney, is incompetent and may be entirely to blame. I don't want to defend Bobby at all, but we have no evidence to prove that she communicated the offer from Hot 99.5 to her client at all.

Phaedra should be disbarred.

Kane first off love the show. I'm sorry that Bobby screwed up his end of the deal but I have a feeling that someone in jail will screw him.....

HAY!!
What do you expect from a guy like Bobby Brown.  I think you gave the guy too much credit and he should just be left alone.  Him and his ex-wife get too much press as it is and this type of stuff is exactly the reason how the black stereotype get personified in the media.  If I were a vistor from another country I would think that Black America is a nation of lazy, alcohol, club-hoppin' fight-crazed non-commited sex freaks.

BBrown

One could reasonably expect that BB would not live up to any commitment since he is basically a spoiled thug; however, some short sightedness was displayed by Kane (and 99.5) for ever conceiving of this idea.  While most of the feedback supports the termination of BB from the agreement (which I do too), he has nevertheless hoodwinked Kane and idolized himself even more with his own kind, many of whom are Washington supporters much like the type that supported former Mayor Barry no matter what he did.  This is not the type of controversy that 99.5 needs, no matter how right the station may now be.  As the next jailhouse venture, should we expect 99.5 to bail out Snoop Dog when he goes to jail for a handgun violation?  Any association with these pseudo criminals speaks poorly to 99.5 and your listeners.

Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

Kane you are a wonderful person
Kane we need peoples like you in this world that goes out your way to help another person and Bobby did not appreciate it so people like me should get another chance. Now if I was in that situtaiton, I would be glad to work for a week at your station with no buts what so ever. I would clean the floor at your station and be glad. I enter your 1000.00 and I hope you will read it and help me and you know I will come and work at your station for a day.

Dead beat Dad and crackhead!
Bobby is an idiot and should have rot in jail for not taking care of his children in the first place.  Why does anyone have to order a real man to own up to his responsibilities?  He is a jerk and deserves all that comes to him.  The order was in place when he was making much more money and now he is just a washed up has been. If he can't afford the order in place then he should have went to a judge and requested a modification to his current lifestyle and not just ignore the order altogether. He was dependant on Whithey until he got her strung out and she woke up and left his tired ass.  Don't worry though, give him a few months and he will be right back in jail for either the same thing or something else.  Thank God that Whitney had so many angels praying for her to save her before it was too late.

He wanted to get out of jail asap!

Bobby is a grown man and has had more than enough chances to get his life together!  Instead of bailing him oo/jail, Hot 99.5 should've left him there until he found another "get oo/jail free card"  Maybe he will learn his lesson if everyone would stop bailing him oo/things.  Maybe jail would help him regroup and become that man that is inside of him.  My question is...can the child support order be reduced and how has he been able to pay the support in the past.......Mr. Brown it is time to grow up! You knew that the 19k was in exchange for a weeks worth  of radio "appearances". Please return the money to them ASAP!

Not Surprised

If you make a deal with a snake don't be surprised when that snake bites you.  I could not understand why you would want to get a deadbeat dad out of jail.  There are plenty of things that could have been done with that money. For example:

help parents pay summer camp fees
supplies for local schools
donate to charity

Bad Idea turned Good
I really think that HOT99.5 first made a big error brewing up the idea that Bobby Brown would be an employee on the show. He's no good, never been good for anything except for a few songs. I really thought from the very beginning that it was a bad idea and would backfire, but I am really glad that Kane got the money back and is turning into a positive event. So, in the end, I'm glad how it ended up, but next time, don't drop 20K on a dead beat dad, tried and true, and expect to be able to openly ask him ON-AIR why he was a dead beat, and what he used money on instead of his children!!! I saw that coming! Bobby Brown is bad news, I'm so glad that he's NOT coming to DC. He's a liar, and now everyone knows it here. Bobby Brown-Not Welcome here!

Bobby Brown - A Disgrace and Embarrassment to Black Men all over the country
Excuse my lengthy title, but it was necessary.  I caught your show early Friday morning on the 2nd day in March.  I was on my way to drop my woman off at work and continue on to work myself when we both caught you in the middle of the Bobby Brown phone conversation.  When I first heard the story, I thought it would be interesting and that indeed, perhaps Bobby Brown was trying to turn things around from his dispicable past which we all know consisted of drug use, stints in jail, drunk driving, missed shows, missed appointments and so forth.  I thought it was an extremely gracious gesture on Kane and Hot 99.5's part and I figured Brown saw it that way as well.

Throughout the conversation it became more and more apparent that he tried to flip the script and instead of behaving with humility, he began behaving as if he were the Alpha-Celebrity and was doing the show and the DC listeners some type of favor that we just couldn't do without.

First off, Bobby Brown, in the eyes of most us, you are a washed up, fat, chapped-lip,  r&B singer who hasn't had a hit since the early 90's and has no concept of what it means to PAY CHILD SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I don't give a damn who he thinks he is in terms of his celebrity status, but you are trash as a father.  Everytime he pulls one of these episodes, he makes every single black man in America, including myself, who's doing the right thing look bad.  It's a travesty.  Tell him to keep his ass in California or Boston, but we damn sure don't want him anywhere in D.C.

Kane, I also must say you are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much of a nice guy.  You should've let him have it and ripped him a new one.  I understand you have class and that's not really your style.  But ask yourself, if you were DJ Kay Slay up on Hot 97 in New York, would Brown have treated you that way? I seriously doubt he would.

Bobby B. is Scum
Hi Kane,

Bobby Brown is a lowlife scumbag.  For goodness sake, he cannot honor an agreement to financially support his own children....therefore, I am not in the least surprised he failed to honor his agreement with 99.5.  He is an idiot.  He was embarrassed and ashamed....as he should be.  He is a deadbeat dad and has been one for many years.  He is frequently in and out of court/jail for failure to financially support his children.  He is a total waste.  Kane, I would love to see those monies go to fund/support more youth oriented programs and/or activities.  Let's work to try and save our young men....we sure don't want them to end up like Mr. Bobby B.

Bobby Clown
Hi there Kane,
I was sorry to hear about the trouble you have recently experienced with Bobby Brown and his reliability.  (Allthough I am not surprised because, well... it's Bobby Brown)  However, I was pleased to hear that the $19,000 dollars you had planned to pay him would be going towards a good use.  I heard the "pay it forward" opportunity and decided to send a message.  I apologize if I have sent it to the wrong location.  I am an art teacher and if I received $1000 I would pay it forward to my students and my school.  I would get an LCD projector for my classroom and I would also share it with other teachers.  If there was money left over I would purchase supplies for my classes.  I am sure my students would benefit form a technology upgrade, and I know they would also get a huge kick out being chosen to receive some of the "Bobby money."  Either way,  I want to say I enjoy your show and I love the station.  I can easily say it is the most listened to station on my pre-sets.  Four states, fifteen counties, and the white house..... I love that!  Thanks!

Get him on the phone
Hey Kane,

I was listening to your show this morning while stuck in traffic and all I could think of was, get Bobby on the phone! Your audience will love to hear what he has to say about the statement he made last night!
We all knew what a troublemaker he was, but no one expected him to be a chicken and back out of a deal, which, by the way, saved his ass. You should have let him stay in jail and learn his lesson!

Peace,
Le

This is a person who cannot own up to his resposibility.    He influinced whitney to ruin her career, maide kids and now doesn't want to take care of them just because whitney has the ability to.  OH HELL NO! He must not know the true wrath a woman let alone a mother. He mooched off whitneys money and no that she left he thinks he's too good to pay child support.  i say they throw his tracked a** back in jail.  In the bible it says a man that does not provide for his family will go to hell.  Well he might like it, it would light his pipe for him.  Irrisponsible looser. A little boy who has to grow into his body.Inconsiderate prick. Let's see how famous he is in 10 years. HE's nothing without whitney.

Bobby, What a loser!!!!!Washed Up Has Been
I just sent and email to Kane, but this is what I said:

First, I love the morning show.  Currently I am home during the day so I am listening on line.  I watched the news and listened to the comment by Bobby Brown.  It looked like he was drunk or high and honestly your conversation on Friday it sounded as though he was high.  He is such a loser and a waste,  I am glad you guys got your money back and I bet you are glad now he is not there, just imagine what he could have done.  Good for you for fighting back.  He's a straight up A**!!!!
He is going to be in the same trouble again so don't sweat it!!!!!
Go Get Him, Kane!!!!

Bobby Brown
I think it was cool that Kane got the station to post his bail to help turn his life around and do some good to the local community at the same time when he would come to visit. The thing is if someone is not willing to help himself with his issues it's even more difficult to get them to cooroperate. He's booby brown! He's had plenty chances to straighten his life out. He has better chances than most with being "famous and all". He should know better....

Bobby Brown is an IDIOT!!
Bobby Brown is stupid, he was given a chance and he screwed it up for himself and his children. It was the simplest task to do. It shows how capable he really is in being a human being. For one simple week just to do right. He is just another spoiled celebrity.
Posted By: Melissa - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 10:29pm
Wow
I just listend to the interview.  I read the comments and I think the sad part is, having to be forced to pay for your children.  I'm a black male, with a son, and I've never been forced into court to pay for my son.  Lets face it, most court only require what about 25% of current salary for support.  If I'm off by that number, you can see I have no clue.  It was a good move because it showed his nature........
To the good men, I applaud you.  It will pay off......

Absolutely Amazing
I wondered a long time ago why Whitney Houston, who had everything going for her, agreed to marry this loser.  What a waste of her time and money.  I feel sorry for the kids, he sure doesn't seem like much of a father.  What a role model for his children.

How typical of the loser personality to say and do whatever someone wants, until they get what they want and then they suffer from amnesia, and everyone misunderstood but them!

Now that he is out of jail, and has re-nigged on his agreement, I think he should be put back in jail.  You know he has nothing to lose by getting sued, he has nothing, is nothing, and will never be anything again.

I'm sure it wont belong until he sees the world through those metal bars again, and who will he turn to to rescue his loser behing the next time ??

I think you should set the money aside and save it to bail out Vanilla Ice if he ever goes to jail.  You could start the One Hit Wonder Bail Fund!

Bobby Brown

Dear Kane,
I listen to your show every morning as I drive to work and really did not have much to comment about the Bobby deal until this morning. I have mixed feelings about the show being Bobbys "scapegoat" (once again). I am a struggling single parent myself, working full-time and going to college full-time. It not easy trying to figure out how to rob peter to pay paul day in and day out. Then we have pompass men..celebs who have no clue what it is like to be a single parent...I am glad that the system is set up so that the bail money went to his children. However, what about next time? How in the hell can he afford an attorney, etc..when he can't pay up? I could not believe my ears during the interview. He is a classic a** that deserves to stay in jail. He has no respect for others, his children or the mother of his children to act like that on the air. He doesn't have to worry about the negative publicity since he obviously does not have a hard time creating it for himself. KUDOS TO THE JUDGE WHO SENT OUT THE WARRENT FOR HIS ARREST!!!!!!!!!

Bobby Brown
Kane, first off i'd like to say that I love your show. You do an awesome job!!!! Now on to the subject of Bobby Brown, Your hearts were in the right place but just remember you can take the thug out of the hood, you can't take the hood out of the thug!! I just listened to your conversation w/ Bobby and it was idiotic on his part,Bobby Brown will never change, he is washed up & has been for YEARS!! To me it sounded like he wasn't sober, he probably bought drugs with your money. I think that the money would be better off in an orphanage or going to the homeless. I'm sorry that happened to you all and I hope that the money will go somewhere where it is really needed & deserving.

Bobby, you lost a long time fan
Bobby I have been a long time fan of yours since your career started, and have stuck with you and Whitney through a lot a issues in the past. I really thought you had good intentions when Kane & HOT995 offered to pay you back child support in exchange for a single week out of you life.  How many single parent homes get that type of offer? NONE! Wish I could. Coming from a single mother of 3 who's  father chose crack over his children and to this day owes my children just under $19,000.00 in back support, your attitude and towards Kane and the radio stations good intentions is just unforgivable, but  I wish your children the best in life.

hey -
i have just recently started to listen to your morning show - i love it by the way... and when i first heard you were going to bail bobby out i thought okay ... maybe...then i thought just maybe he would come on and try to redeem himself from the "person the media shows."  and when i heard him talking to you on the phone ... it all hit me ... the person the media shows is the kind of person he is.  he never plannned on keeping his end of the deal. and deep down i believe he knew that! people can only judge you from what you give them to judge.  he has made himself what he is no one else.

this guy lost his dignity a long time ago - did you ever see his show??  this guy is such a loser, not to mention deadbeat.  he lied to get out of jail and as soon as he was free, he reneged on the deal he made with no coersion from anyone.  i'll talk about my troubles for 19k a week...

Scum
Bobby Brown is a scuzbag and anyone who didn't think he'd take the money then not meet his obligation was dreaming.
Bobby Brown doesn't meet many obligations, that's why he was in jail in the first place.
He is a disgrace and a disaster, a loser and a has-been.  Whitney has a good chance of coming back but Bobby Brown doesn't.
He is selfish, egoistic and he's lost his paycheck since they're getting a divorce.  Her royalties have to be 10 times what his are, she made at least that much more music than he did.
As far as "a man still needs his dignity" that is so much bull!  He should try acting with some decency and dignity if he wants to be treated with such!!!!
Posted By: min - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 6:19pm
WHATEVER BOBBY!!!!!!
I think everyone's jaw dropped when they heard Bobby Brown hang up on Kane. I was anticipating something crazy to happen, but nothing of this caliber.  Bobby Brown was laughing the entire invterview as if he already had a plan to skip out on the deal.  He is a loser!  If he wants people to leave him alone and stop talking about his personal life, I think everyone should do just that.  Leave him alone, don't play his songs, don't take his picture, or anything!  He is only the "star" that we continue to make him.  He is a nobody and we should treat him as such.

That is the treatment appropriate of a "man of his stature".

We normal people don't usually talk to crack heads anyway!

Stupid Stupid Stupid

Bobby Brown is a sh*tbag.  Plain and simple.  Why didn't he pay his child support?  He SHOULD've had the money.  I know he hasn't put out any records lately, but he did have that TRAIN WRECK of a TV show on VH1, so he has made some money.  He talks about how he is a good father, HOW LONG DON'T YOU PAY YOUR CHILD SUPPORT BEFORE IT REACHES $19150???!!!???  It makes me absolutely sick.  TAKE CARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BOBBY BROWN!!!  And if you didn't want all of your dirty laundry aired, you're in the wrong damn business, buddy.  You're not new.  You know the game.

Fuck Bobby Brown
Bobby Brown is a jerk for backing out of his commitment. I hope you guys get your money back and you should have left him in jail so he can get what he deserves, a good beating from real criminals. He ain't worth nothing anymore and his a** can't even sing with that crooked a** mouth of his. The world would be a lot better if that mother had ODed, or got shanked. Screw you Bobbi Brownie, your career is dead.

Bobby Brown
I don't agree with one of the comments posted that Bobby Brown did not owe the radio station. He did owe them if he signed a contract to work for the radio station for one week and his child support payments would be paid. If Bobby Brown had any dignity he would have paid up and not been in this situation in the first place. Bobby Brown did not ask the radio station to pay his child support, but he did accept the offer when it was laid out in front of him. Bobby Brown had a choice whether to accept the offer to work for the radio station or stay in jail.

Hot 99.5 and the Kane show are the best!
Posted By: anonymous - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 3:29pm
POOR CHILDREN!
While I sincerely believe that Bobby Brown is pure scum-a true bottom feeder, who I really feel for are his children.  What do you think they will grow up to be like with both he and Whitney as examples.  Sad, very sad.  This is truly a case where these children need to be taken away from both parents and if they are old enough and smart enough-they would divorce both of the deadbeats!
Society definitely doesn't need anymore "trash" and unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself, so I'm sure without some positive outside guidance, Bobby's children will be mooching off someone and expecting free handouts too.  Maybe he'll pedal his children off next-wouldn't be surprising.  Best of luck to them is all I can say and hopefully we won't see them in the news repeating their parents disgusting behavior in the near future.
Posted By: Christine - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 3:24pm
Walking Free??
Is Bobby Brown allowed to walk around on the streets even though 99.5 got back their money?  I think he should go back and rot until he gets around to pay to support his own kids!  He is soo full of crap, and the Kane show was just trying to do a good deed. He used to be cool (when I was 12), now he's nothing about a has been. I hope he gets what's coming to him.
Posted By: anonymous - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 2:47pm
He's a loser
I knew the minute I heard of the deal that he wouldn't comply. He's a bottom dweller. Look how he treats his wife and kids....did ya really think he'd treat the radio station any better?! Come on! He's a deadbeat, drug addicted LOSER.

P.R. Stunt gone wrong.
A man still needs his dignity, and I don't know if I'd like to go on air for 5 days to 'discuss' how to turn my life around. Bottom line, no one asked the station to post Brown's bail; it was an obvious P.R. stunt that might have actually worked, but didn't, It was and still is up to Brown, and he's made a decision. Nice try, 99.5, but I don't feel Brown owes you anything in this circumstance. How much did Nicole owe Stern for 'helping' her??

Bobby Brown is a washed up has been! He was given yet another chance and he blew it. Did he honestly think someone would pay his $19,000 child support payments and all he had to do was talk about what he wanted to on the radio? Get Real!! This guy is so full of himself. He has repeatedly gone delinquent on his child support payments and he has been in and out of jail. How people still support him is beyond me. The perfect ending to this story would have been Bobby Brown being hauled off right back to jail when he backed out of his obligation to the radio station. Let's stop idolizing these people who think they are beyond the law. Bobby Brown is no different then any other dead beat dad who skips out on his child support payments, and his giggles and behavior during the interview show that he doesn't take it too seriously either.

Washed Up Celebrity!!!
I definitely agree with one listener that Bobby Brown has lived up to the stereotype that has been put on the African American men in the community in which they can't pay child support and take care of their children. When is he going to grow up? NEVER! I'm tired of Bobby Brown and thank goodness Whitney isn't with him anymore. Though even worst I feel sorry for his kids who are probably going to school everyday having to deal with their peers and hearing everything all over the news. Though Kane keep doing the right thing. The good that has come out of this is the station has the money to give to the community and help anyone in need. And in the end, who's the fool...Bobby Brown!!!

An On-Going Train Wreck
I would advise you guys to sue him for breach of contract..BUT..he doesn't have any money. He's a thug...and has always been a problem. Any other person would have proudly upheld this offer. What's sad is that he's SO incredibly stupid that he didn't even recognize this as a blessed opportunity to reinvent himself, and his career. He probably would have done well as a radio host, and most likely would have created a whole new career path...BUT...stupid is a stupid does! LOL.

Bobby "Controversy" Brown
How can Bobby be upset that someone is asking him about controversy (in this case constantly DELINQUENT child support) when controversy is his middle name. What else has he done that is worth an interview question? His whole life is drugs, drinking, mooching, and failure to pay child support. What else is left to ask him about? Oh…I forgot…I guess Kane could’ve asked him about his new life with Supa’head.

He left Roxbury Projects, but the projects haven't left him!

Who can we trust?
We all saw what 'has beens' have done for money, i.e. Dustin Diamond.  I guess we all should not be surprised.

Give the money to a shelter or charity that helps single parents (women or men) with supporting their kids.  I would stay clear from giving it to listerners that just call up asking for money like you mentioned on the radio this morning because it's proven we just can't trust anyone, sadly.  Give the money to the people without a voice!!  Give the money in the name of HOT 99.5 Kane Show's Fans.

Maybe, we as fans can all come out and help the community with an event like this and prove the DC/MD/VA listerners wanted to do good!  And we really wanted to make this into a positive!

Maybe we should thank Bobby Brown for bringing all of us together and helping those who really need it here in our communtiy!

DON'T HELP BOBBY BROWN
i think you should warn all radio stations across the usa to tell them
if bobby brown gets into trouble again(in the future)do not help
him,i repeat,DO NOT HELP BOBBY BROWN!!!

Bobby Brown needs to get a LIFE!!!!
Bobby Brown is a piece of crap!!! He is such a has been and has to use his messed up personal life keep himself in the spotlight.  You know this man can afford to pay his damn bills. There is no excuse for that.  Who else is sick of hearing about him and Whitney??????
Posted By: anonymous - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 12:23pm
I know who would've appreciated it
Charles Manson. Heck! He probably would've wrote a song for you all and even sung it on air :)

I must admit though in all seriousness that when I heard about the idea from the start I honestly thought, "This is not going to work out"

Cut dude some slack
He definitely has some problems, he just got out of jail and still sound like he was high. But he did get arrested when he went to see his daughter cheerlead, which I would like to think that he's trying to do his best since he can't pay what "THE COURT" awarded him to pay for child support. Which I'm sure 90% of the people dogging him out couldn't afford to pay either. And if we knew the monthly amount we would all agree it's more than a child needs and is based on his celebrity stature. If he pays back the money, alls well! For he paid back his debt to the station and 99.5 got alot of free PR.

I Feel Sorry For His Kids

Hi Kane,
I just want to commend you and everyone at HOT 99.5 for the effort that you made to help out Bobby Brown and his kids!  I truly believe that he never had any intensions on coming on the show, as he agreed.  He probably figured that he'd have you guys get him out and he'd repay you later, since he doesn't have his personal ATM machine (Whitney) anymore to pay for him.

I'm really interested in knowing how Bobby Brown is feeling about himself.  Is he feeling embrassed, humiliated, stupid, happy, proud ~ what?

His kids are the ones that I really feel sorry for.  Once again their dad has accomplished embarrassing them and showing the world what kind of man he really is.

I hope this doesn't stop 99.5 from continuing to do incredible good deeds.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!

WHO CARES ???
Why is everybody so upidy up about Bobby B?  He's so washed up it isn't funny.  Why bother with the guy?  Move on to something here and now.  I don't get the fasination?  He was great in his prime with New Edition, and then own his own, but honestly, how long has it been since he's done anything other than beat his wife and screw up the life of one of the Best singers of all time?  Let it go already!

I was not surprised one bit!
I was not surprised one bit when I heard that Bobby Brown backed out on the deal that you had with him. I am glad that at least his kids were able to receive the back support though- you DID help someone. As far as Bobby goes, he'll be back in hot water soon enough with the child support again- mark my words. People who are bailed out time and time again, and don't suffer the consequences for the choices they've made will inevitably fall into the same pitfall again. There's a saying- some people just have to FEEL to LEARN. That's Bobby. Next time, he won't have Whitney, or 99.5 to bail him out.....he'll have to get used to the state hospitality in jail...and he'll have plenty of time to think about the bad choices he's made in life.
Posted By: Lisa - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 10:14am
let's look at this for a sec...
What's up, Kane. I just listened to the conversation you had with Bobby, and most certainly, he is ungrateful and out of line. I do think, however, you were a bit agressive in your approach in the situation by saying, in a demanding way that he is going to come work for the radio station, that's that, no questions asked. you said it in a way that probably made him feel like, "who does this guy think he is talking to me like he owns me?" Now, he does owe you and your radio station a favor for helping him, and for him to at least not talk about it, or call you back and talk to it on a more professional level to iron out the kinks is wrong, but I also feel that you were wrong by not at least giving him some sort of option as far as discussing the matter in a private way, but you were like, "no, we are gonna talk about this on the air, that's that, here's what you are gonna do!" Yes, it wold have made for great ratings for the week and it could certainly have helped him as far as some kind of exposure that could have led to possible future endeavors, but I just feel that neither party handled themselves properly and in a way that all would have benefitted for the better. Brown is pretty much on the rocks right now and certainly has himself in a hole, and he needs to do whatever he can to sta on track so that things like this don't happen for him, again. It was a noble gesture, albeit for the purpose of ratings, and I get that, but in my opinion, both sides should have been a bit more professional in the manner, and both sides should have let the ego's not factor into the equation.  Bobby Brown and his ego of being known as an entertainer and he does what he wants to do and people don't give him orders, he gives the orders, and Kane sounding like he "owns" Bobby Brown and that Brown is going to do what he tells Brown to do. I'm just trying to look at the situation from both sides, I'm not bashing anyone here, but Bobby needs to establish himself so that his personal matters won't be the choice toic of the day, especially matters that make him out to be a deadbeat.

Bobby Brown is a HUGE LOOSER!!!
He is washed up and lost his meal ticket. He will be in jail again for non support, or some other charges. He needs to do his time in jail next time, other wise he will keep thinking that it's all a big joke. When the only big joke is Bobby Brown.
I hope 99.5 gets their money back, but I'm not holding my breath. The worthless excuse of a humanbeing, Brown, doesn't take care of his kids, why would he pay this money back. And now the mother of the children has been told to dip into the college fund set up, should he fall behind again. So forget that the kids may want to go to college, so they can become a valued member of society. And not a worthless leach that their sperm donor is and shall be.

I can use that money

I believe Bobby Brown is embarrassed about how he obtained the money to settle this child support case.  He needs to look at this as doing what he had to do to provide for his kids and not worry about how he looks in everyone else’s eyes. He needs to own up to his words and honor this contract.

If he doesn’t come through, give the money to someone who would appreciate it and who needs it like me. My house has a lien on it for $100, 000 and I can use that money to save my house before the government takes it away.

Posted By: anonymous - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 9:37am
That was his chance
I hope Bobby Brown realizes what a huge mistake he made in breaking his contract.  This was his chance to spin the recent negative publicity into something positive.  Who else was willing to give him a chance? How long would he have sat in jail?

As a parent, your children should be the most important thing in your life.  When you become a parent sacrifice replaces your personal pride regardless of your celebrity status or financial stability.

Thank you Kane for giving extending a kind hand regardless of Bobby Brown's negative public image.

What to do with the money...
I too am a mother that is owed child support.  And my suggestion would be that you give the money to some of those who are owed back child support.

I believe that the $19,000 was for only two months.  There are some of us who are owed much more than that and the time period is over several months or years.  My total owed is now up to $30,000 and the laws do not help the ones who didn't conceive with stars.  My children's dad sells cars for a living and has for years now.  So clearly, his license isn't being suspended, nor has he ever been arrested.

And I am in no way taking up for Bobby Brown, but how is that he is arrested after missing only 2 months and my 2 children can go years without support.  It's just not fair.   I think that the laws should be the same across the board, in each state.

BOBBY BROWN? BOBBY WHO?

I am not shocked about Bobby Browns' behavior at all.   Here was a talented man who messed his own life up.  He went from New Edition to his own thing and he still is a nobody.  I applaud Kain in his efforts to give Bobby a chance to "improve" his image.  I listened to the show friday and expected Bobby Brown to do something to mess it up.  No one will be able to help Bobby Brown because he's beyond help.  He still thinks he's famous for being a singer.  Poor guy needs a reality check.  Kain wasn't being rude or disrespectful to him and I really couldn't understand what the problem was for Bobby to act civil.  I would hope that we can now move on and focus on someone who is worthy of a second shot.  Bobby Brow is just a waste of time, money, and a life.  Thank you.

Dead Beat Dads
I am a father that pays 2 child supports, and I have never missed a payment. I currently work 2 jobs, plus I serve my country in the Nationals Guards (22 years of service). Now on the other side of the street, my current wife is owed $17,000 + from the father of her child. It amazes me how people like this and like Bobby Brown get away with this stuff. The goverment really needs to crack the whip on these people. It is ashame that the kids suffer in the long run. I do everything I possibly can for my kids, yet I sit back and watch my step daughter constantly ask about her father, and he is no where around. The kids for Bobby Brown will suffer in the long run. But if they listen to "Cat's In The Cradle" song, this will come back to haunt these dead beat dads. Every dog has it's day!

I hope that 99.5 will stay true to there words, and put the money to these kids that do without. But be careful, there are some dads out there that could do something, but won't. They just want to sit on there ass, and let someone else take care of their responsibility. Good luck!

stupid

If Bobby Brown doesnt want to be confronted about being a dead beat dad and what he has done wrong than he needs to pull his head out of his A_S and act right.  Stupid, of course people are gonna talk about you and why wouldnt someone confront you about it, because your Bobby Brown, big deal, there are better has beens out there than you.

It can still be positive ..... Bobby Brown Sucks
After all said and done, Bobby Brown should be banned from the DC area. He is a disgrace to all the fathers in and around the area. He claims he is a "father" but from what happend Friday, he is just a biological donor. A father would own up to his responsibilities. As a father that is paying child support, I personally will never want to be in the same catagory as Bobby brown

As far as the money, use it to help out those fathers that do pay to give them a break. Just throwing the idea out.

Why is everyone doggin Bobby!

Kane, I'm sorry but you should have known better than to try to make a deal with Bobby Brown. What person in their right mind would try to make a deal with a crackhead! Everybody knows that you can't trust a crackhead. What was your reason for trying to get Bobby to do the show anyway? Please help me to understand.

I heard on the radio Friday the two of you were talking about him being behind on child support and something about trying to turn his negative image into a positive image. Well I think that's great to try to help him turn to a positive image but I kind of agree with what he was saying about keeping his private business private. Famous people have no privacy. And I think bringing up issues about weather or not he's paying child support is wrong. It is a private matter. That's between him and his family. If I were Bobby's kid I would be so ashamed to heard it blasted all over the radio that my dad doesn't pay his child support. I mean you have to think about his kids also and how they may feel about everything.

I personally don't want to hear about Bobby Brown and weather he's paying his child support or not. The story just gets old after awhile.

This is just my opinion.

Posted By: Annonymous - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 8:34am
Bobby needs to grow up
If Bobby decided to show up today to "make nice" I think he should go visit homeless children, serve food at a local soup kitchen, or visit with the family who lost their son because they couldn't afford to see the dentist. He should do some sort of community service, but not just a photo op because Bobby needs to learn that there are people out there who really need help and his sad little "celebrity" life is ridiculous.

I was excited about Bobby coming to town, now I'm disappointed that he doesn't even follow through on his promises.
Posted By: Angie - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 8:14am
Who is Bobby Brown anyway?
He isnt a celebrity anymore!  There is "man of his stature" or whatever Bobby Brown or his brother said!  When is the last time he put out an album?  When is that last time he made any money singing or on tv or in a movie?  Whitney Houston of all people left him!  He's worthless!  He's a crook!  He thinks he is more than he is.  He is an absolute nobody... and with this action, reaction, etc... He's a wanabe thug celebrity BSing SOB!

He needs to take some more blow up his nose... beat on more women... go collect his unemployment check... and keep ignoring his kids.  He needs to take his ass to McDonalds, get himself a job, and pay his child support!
Posted By: Kaan - Monday, March 5th 2007 @ 7:45am
TRIFLIN!

It really shocks me that your radio station would support Mr. Brown in his child support issues. SInce this is not his first time dealing with this matter, it seems to me that BooBoo Bobby waits for his supprt to be paid by anyone. I have yet to hear someone talk about the bigges issue, what about that children. I am a mother of a 13 yr old and to this day his father doesnt pay his support, and I daymn sure do not think that anyone should help that dead beat. Brown was very much unappreciative of the help and plaued games all around KANE. Now I dont even listen to this station but it is quite apparent that BooBoo Bobby carried the station. I would sue him for breach of contract. He is not a role model at all and 99.5 needs nothing to do with that brokedown, crackhead, smokedout, idiot.  There are alot of things the station could do with the money shoot! What about the fathers that want the opprtunity, that will work, what about the mothers that need the money. You want to give away money do you, well I got a kitchen that needs to be redone, hell, I ll work at your station for a month, Ill even bring some friends. Set it up for a college fund for some kid, do something contructive. Hell. buy tickets for moms and there kids and send them to a amusement park, buy some kids some shoes, buy school booksfor the nearest high school! I do applaud Kane for his attitude during this whole situation, as a matter of fact, so much that you do have a new listener.

Bobby Brown is a has been and there is just no way he can ever regain himself. He is a waste of everyone's time. Thank goodness, you guys didn't waste your money on this guy. He is a loser. Who the hell does he think he is? He has way too much pride for a loser.

Why not give it to the listeners?

I'm sure winter heating has hit alot of listeners in the pockets hard.

Have folks fax up thier bills and pay them till the 19k is gone.

Bobby is a LOSER
It was a nice gesture for the station to pay Bobby Brown's bail in exchange for working at the station, but you have to expect behavior like this from a drug addict. They will make promises and say anything to get people to comply with them, only to back out after they get what they want.  Now he's acting like the station didn't pay to get him out, but his brother did. Yeah ok. It's terrible that after all of the success he's had he has NO money! This is the second time he's been jailed for non payment of child support and he should've stayed in jail. I have NO respect for Bobby Brown, and I'm glad Whitney left him. I hope the station gets their money back.

SCUMBAG!
I BET THIS IS WHAT ALOT OF PEOPLE THINK ABOUT, BOBBY BROWN.
THIS GUY HAS NO MORALS, NO FRIENDS, NO WIFE, AND NO BALLS!! HE SHOULD HAVE FACED KANE AND THE REST OF THE MORNING SHOW LIKE A MAN. HE MADE HIMSELF OUT TO BE A CHUMP AND A COWARD!
I TO THINK THAT EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO A SECOND CHANCE IN LIFE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BOBBY'S BREAK,BUT HE SCREWED UP YET AGAIN. HOT 99.5'S GESTURE TO HELP SOMEONE WHEN IN NEED WAS GREAT, HIS CHILDREN SHOULD BE GREATFUL. WITHOUT YOUR HELP THEY WOULD HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY MONEY FROM THIER DEADBEAT DAD!!
HE SHOULD HAVE SAT IN JAIL A LITTLE LONGER!(NEXT TO BUBBU!)
BEEN SOMEONES "CANDY GIRL"!
I HOPE YOU GUY'S GET ALL YOUR MONEY BACK, AND A PUBLIC APOLOGY ON LIVE RADIO. IT IS THE LEAST BOBBY CAN DO, SINCE HE'S AFRAID TO MAN UP AND APOLOGIZE IN PERSON.

Bobby Brown aint worth 20c
Hey Kane.

First off, great show. I always catch the podcasts, since we can't get you live here in South Africa.

Secondly, I gotta say that Bobby Brown interview got my back up. So props to you for remaining professional despite the fact that you were clearly in a most difficult position, courtesy of that has-been loser. God knows, I probably would have lost my composure and told him exactly where he should go and what he should do when he gets there...

And then I would have kicked his ass.

As a suggestion, perhaps you should give the money to a bunch of single moms who could really do with the cash. Or maybe even take a bunch of (homeless?) kids without any folks to a theme park or something for the day...

Take it easy.

NEVER TRUST A CRACK HEAD

Kane -

Below is a list of simple rules you and your listening audience should follow when dealing with current or former crack heads...

Rule No. 1: Don't ever trust a crack head
Rule No. 2: Don't ever loan a crack head money
Rule No. 3: Don't ever invite a crack head over to your home or workplace
Rule No. 4: Don't engage in a conversation with a crack head
Rule No. 5: Don't go into business with a crack head
Rule No. 6: Don't marry a crack head
Rule No. 7: Don't have children by a crack head
Rule No. 8: Don't invite a crack head to a family reunion or cookout
Rule No. 9: Don't leave wallets or purses around a crack head
Rule No. 10: Don't ever have a crack head babysit your kid(s)
Rule No. 11: Don't bail a crack head out of jail - especially, Bobby Brown

---last but not least---

Kick Bobby Brown's ass the next time you see him, which will most likely be in jail, when he misses his next child support payment.  And believe me, there will be a next time, and a time after that, and so on & so forth, until his kids reach 18 yoa.

P.S. Kane - you should have known better to loan Bobby money, especially when the last time he had a hit song (Ghostbusters) was 20 something years ago!  Shame on you.

By the way, I love your show!  Hot 99.5

what a lowlife
i'm sorry but there's no way on god's green earth i EVER would have tried to help that pitiful excuse for a man out in the first place! i think that he should be responsible enough to pay his own debts. i mean, seriously. look at him. all you ever heard about bobby brown in the last like 10 years is his drug problem. did you really think you could trust an addict? my bet is that he has the money to pay his child support somewhere but chooses not to pay it. and all the money he spent on drugs all those years could have gone toward it as well. quite honestly, i don't think he ever deserved another chance to begin with. but good try kane. sorry that he turned out to be the ass i always knew he was.

Bobby Brown
Kane:

I could tell on Friday that as soon as your on air conversation started with Bobby Brown that he was not going to come to Washington to be at the station for a week.  In my opinion, he wanted to get into a disagreement/arguement so that he could make it appear as if the radio stations was not symphathetic to his cause and just looking for ratings.

When it comes to a character like Bobby Brown, I feel that "You get what you paid for"

Expected it
I was listening to your show Friday morning during the conversation with Bobby Brown...and all I have to say is I was already expecting it. He\'s one of those individuals in life that shouldn\'t have gotten the fame that was given to him. In no way is he the \"respectful\" father he claims to be. Afterall, he\'s in no way respected as a human being. You\'re right Kane...he not only disrespected the station he disrespected DC. I’m kinda glad he bailed, b/c I’d much rather his sorry ass doesn’t come to this city. He has nothing to offer anyone…considering he can’t even take care of himself. Karma’s a B*tch and he’ll what’s coming to him. I have no sympathy for him and hope he realizes what a sorry excuse for a human being he is.

suggestion for the money
I think you should take a small portion of the money you get back, buy a casket, and send Bobby Brown a casket gram to tell him how the DC metropolitan area feels about all of this!!!

i think it was a scam
i think bobby brown used your offer to get out of jail free and had no intention of fulfilling his comment to hot 99.5 and kane .i think he tried to pull a scam.

What's not being writtten...
Honestly,

I think both parties are responsible for the whole situation, more BOBBY BROWN than Hot 99.5. In my opinion, the show paid the money more for publicity purposes than for those children. Not once did I hear Kane try to call the mother of the children to get her side of story or her feelings about the station paying the money. If it was about the children, then they would not have chosen a man who has been jail before for the same reason.  I'm not knocking Kane down for trying to do a little good but Bobby Brown. Kane what were you thinking? There are so many parents more deserving of the money right in the DC, MD, VA area.

I must say trying to do a little good is better than doing nothing at all.

Bobby the bum
Sorry that you were duped but did you not consider the source before making the generous gesture to a KNOWN donkeys butt??  How does that buffon deserve any more then he's already goteen? Bad choice of people to help, again, sorry your face was cracked.

Loser...

Why am I NOT surprised, once a loser, always a loser. I feel bad for his kids. The man will never take responsibility for his actions--always deflecting the blame else where. But the biggest mind blowing question, would have to be, 'why Bobby Brown'? Weren't there more deserving F-list celebuturd's out there to help?

Was it for ratings????  Would his last 5 remaining fans really have provided a noticeable ratings boost to justify burning giving $19K to a glorified bum? Heh...don't think so. Consider yourselves lucky the loser backed out of the ill-conceived deal.

I think for the betterment of all humanity, I shall feed him along with Paris Hilton to my pet tiger. It’s for the best.

P.S. If the money is really burning a hole in your pockets, I suppose I can take it off your hands. You know for *ahem* charity and such…

forget bobby!!!
I wasn't surprised that Bobby Brown backed out of the deal you made with him. What I am surprised by was the fact that you must not have remembered all the heartbreaking stories of the single parents trying to provide and get by without
